Take-off…
First, we lay the parachute out behind the cart, then buckle up and start the engine. We’ll Throttle about half way to begin rolling forward, then the parachute begins to inflate and rise above you. Once the parachute has completely inflated and stabilized above, we simply throttle to full power and lift off.  The take off roll is very short, sometimes less than 100 feet.

Steering…
There are two primary means to control a powered parachute: increasing engine power to climb, decreasing engine power to descend and moving the steering bars with the feet—which turns the aircraft right or left.

The flight…
We are flying over a pristine part of the Sonoran Desert rich with wildlife and exotic plant life.  This is YOUR flight alone so we can fly low to explore or high above the mountains for a panoramic vista…all at a leisurely constant 26 mph. Your wish is our command!

Upon landing you’ll be awarded a first flight certificate and pilot’s log book to prove to all that you have soared like a bird in a powered parachute.  Your time on today’s flight can be counted toward an FAA sport pilot license.

Your Pilot/Instructor…
Randy Long is your host and pilot/instructor for your introduction to powered parachute flight.  Randy is an FAA certified flight instructor (CFI) for powered parachutes and also a commercial pilot and instructor for hot air balloons.  He has logged over 2000 hours of flight time and maintains a perfect flying record.
